Astral Ores

In Astral Ores, you play as a Scrapper, a small remotely controlled ship mining for resources in The Belt, a colossal asteroid field orbiting a far away star. Mine resources from Gold to Thorium, use them to upgrade your ship and then set out to fight for your place in the system. From small mining droid to fearsome freighter killer, fight your way past nimble thieves, scouring catamarans and many more in this fun twist on the classic Asteroids! format

Made as my first major project while studying Game Art at university, this was my first real introduction to games development. coded predominantly in Unreal Engine 4 and blueprint, this project allowed me to start a good foundation for dozens of systems from sprite work to animations, particle effects to menu design. It's rough around the edges, and there's a lot I'd like to improve, but there always will be. For now, it looks good, feels good to play, and more than anything else, I'm proud of it.
